My name is Julie Dieterman. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2010. My yoga journey began as a tool to lose weight and be healthier. Yoga allowed me to become healthier both physically and spiritually. Acceptance of myself has been an important part of my yoga practice. To enhance my own personal practice, I became an RYT 200 Registered Yoga Teacher in 2014. I began teaching yoga in 2016 specializing in chair yoga and yin yoga. In 2018 I received a certification in Y12SR, the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery. Also, in 2018 I began working toward certification in Yoga Therapy. I became an RYT 500 in 2020 and a Certified Yoga Therapist in 2022. Other certifications: Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Reiki.
Since becoming a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) I have worked with high risk OB patients at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, MI, cancer patients at Bronson Cancer Center in Kalamazoo, MI, and retreats for women in addiction recovery. My style of yoga therapy is grounding and aids in alleviating tension, stress, and anxiety.
My goal is to bring yoga to people who may have physical limitations or illness. I specialize in teaching gentle yoga classes that are accessible for anyone. I can teach chair and mat postures in the same class! Yoga truly is for everyone!
